As a lot of you probably already know, we're sadly saying goodbye to our drummer and good friend John LeBas.  His playing and friendship will be sorely missed. Our best shows so far have been with him behind the kit, but life's obligations sent him to Houston, which left us with a throne to fill. Our newest member, Jestin Parks, fits the bill nicely. Unless he decides we're too smelly, he's here to stay. Our next order of business is to take a little time to get our show as solid as it was with John playing, so with the exception of a random Austin show here and there, we're gonna be busting our asses behind closed doors for a few weeks. Our shows in Oklahoma got us revved to get on the road. Maybe we can make that happen here before too long!! You stay classy, San Diego.

We've been getting a lot of messages, emails, calls, etc, asking what's going on with the band these days, so here's a nice update blog for you! The CD release party went great!! Thanks to everyone who came out. We couldn't have asked for a more fun celebration or for better bands to join us. Brandon McHose and Ryan Davis played kick ass sets, and Malford was smokin' as always. Be looking for us in the next few months outside of Austin- we're working on branching out, and it's lookin' gooooood. We'll let you know (promise) when we get confirmation on some pending dates. For now, come out to Troubador Saloon (6th & Neches) on 11/29, The Tank on 12/6, and Dirty Dog on 12/15- every night promises new shenanigans, tom-foolery, and massive quantities of beer (or soda).

Well guys, we have the CD release party scheduled, FINALLY!! Be sure to mark your calendars for October 14 at the Alligator Grill (South Lamar in Austin), at 8:00 pm. We're honored and so lucky to have very special musical guests at this show, including The Malford Milligan Band, Ryan Davis, and Brandon McHose. You won't find a more killer lineup! Barrels of monkeys will be attending this show to join in the foray, because they can't have this much fun on their own. Think about that for a second...come join the party!

This is sort of a calm before the storm for us- we're all feeling like we're on the cusp of something big. We've met a couple of extremely helpful people in the last month, and we're getting closer and closer to our goal of having a badass CD release party, at a badass venue. These things take lots of time and lots of networking (friend of a friend of a friend of a friend), especially when you're new in the live music capital. But our tunes have been reaching important ears, and we've seen nothing so far but nods of approval. Be sure to check out our next two shows at Dirty Dog Bar. This place is cool- right next door to Coyote Ugly on 6th, open doors to the street, no cover, no "see and be seen" pretentiousness, nice stage, good sound, and plenty of close parking. Come hang out and have a few beers with us!

There is a woman who created a house full of music, sharing it with her children on an old piano. She entertained her son with a tune here and there, and encouraged him when he sat down to pick out melodies of his own. Whether a half sized guitar, trumpet, etc... she always shepherded her son towards his natural knack for music, always complimenting his acheivements with words of praise. She never hesitated to offer support for the son she was so proud of, even finding musical mentors to guide him along the way. Her name is Debbie, "Mom" to Keenan, and she's as much or more to thank for any of Loss Rayne's music as Keenan himself. So much love and thanks for Debbie Kay LeVick.

Well, it's in the bag! Fragile Mind will be shipping ASAP! Order a copy for yourself, for friends, etc. If you're lucky and are ever around members of the band, they might just be kind enough to throw you a copy! We're so happy with it...save for the fact that in the midst of this chaotic process, Keenan's mom (through his own typographical errors) wasn't included in the credits! We have so many things we're looking forward to! We found a musical blood-brother in Brian Gill, our newest addition to the band on drums. Quite a few prospective gigs up the air- good ones! Please check back frequently for additions to our calendar! Be looking for CD release parties...

Got the new site up, we're really happy with it, our wordmark, everything! Natalie's eye and thankless work with our photos has not only helped us along, but really added to everything we already had in a huge way. Check her out at nataliegazaui.com. She made getting good photos a breeze. The album is mastered, and sounds great! We just have to work on a few publishing things, couple of artwork ideas, etc, then it's on to printing. Be sure to check us out this weeked at Nutty Brown Rd. Fest and Cindy's Gone Hog Wild, both on Saturday! Check our showdates for more details. Got another one at Trophy's on May 4th. Looking forward to getting all of this up and running!

Well, the album is mixed. Rob did a really, really killer job. There hasn't been a step along the way that he hasn't acted and performed as a complete pro. The sound is better than great. I (Keenan) have invented a word for it, and that word is Buenalicious. Loss Rayne's album is going to sound Buenalicious. Rob's gonna rest his ears for a few days and then master it. Fragile Mind.

Still mixing! We're close, though. Rob has to be sick of hearing us by now, no matter how sweet Kasi's cords sound. We have some tentative show dates up in the air right now, we'll post them as soon as we have details.

Had a great show at Trophy's last night with Dave's Not Here. Talk about a badass band! Everyone on that stage was fantastic- they put on a killer show. It was nice to see quite a few people out on a wednesday night.

We're finally finished tracking our album, which is tentatively titled "Fragile Mind." Rob is magic behind the board. The sound is big. We jam packed a lot of recording into a small period of time, but I think you can feel the energy when you listen to it. You might also be able to smell the beer. We're stoked- now it's on to mixing.
